Uma Kondamma Hatakeswaraswamy Temple - Singupuram

This is said to be only cave temple in Srikakulam district. It is on Hill called Sindura. Temple inscriptions on the pillars revel it was constructed between 11-12th century's.
            
 Before this place is know as Simhapuram as it was ruled by Simhabala. Here Buddhist idols of Tara and Mareechi are found in archaeological excavations.
             
Devote Kondamma who born with the blessings of goddess Uma Devi attained salvation on marriage time, so this temple is also called as Uma Kondamma Hatakeswaraswamy Temple.

On top of the hill there is a holy spring, it won’t get dried up through out the year.
