Sanyasi Palem is just 5 km from Srungavarapu kota of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh.
As per Stalapurana a demon used to kill children to satisfy its hunger, then people started praying Uma Kotilingeswara (another famous temple which was just 8 km away at Punyagiri) when he is on his way to Kasi to save their children, then Lord Siva visited Dharmavaram in the form of a Sanyasi and enlightened the demon that they should work for world peace and not for it's destruction then they both took Sajeeva Samadhi as Paidemamba and Sanyaseswara in this place.
This 15th century Temple mostly visited by childless couples in the belief that they would get blessed with children. There is also swayambhu Vinayaka deity in the temple. People around 80 km from this temple bring First fresh milk after their Cow get's delivered believing it bring good health for their cattle.
